STL dominates list of Missouri's best private high schools

If you want to get a heated discussion going among private-school graduates in STL, check out a list by an online publication.

"Niche" is a Pittsburgh-based website that analyze public data and reviews to produce rankings for U.S. school and neighborhoods.

One of their lists is: "2017 Best Private High Schools in Missouri."

Eight of the top 10 schools, and the top 4, are in STL:

John Burroughs (No. 1); Mary Institute & St. Louis Country Day (2); Priory (3); St. Louis University High (4), Whitfield (6); Thomas Jefferson (7); Visitation Academy (9) and Crossroads (10).

Breaking up our burgh's domination of the top decade of schools was Pembroke School in Kansas City (5) and Columbia Independent School (8).

Area schools making the top 20 were: Cor Jesu (11); Chaminade (15); Westminster Christian (16); Villa Duchesne (18); and Nerinx Hall (20).
