"Huck's Journal:
How I Survived Summer School"
is a ten-part serial story that will run Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, June 11 -- July 2, in the Post-Dispatch. Huck is a 10-year old boy who isn't very happy about going to summer school. Each chapter (journal entry) includes character education lessons, fun artwork and a cliffhanger ending! By the end of the story, Huck has learned many lessons and decides that summer school isn't so bad after all. Participating teachers will receive a companion teacher guide filled with lessons in Language Arts, Social Studies and Character Education. There are even ready-to-use templates to help your students create their very own journals!

Camp Kid Scoop is coming back this summer with fun topics that go along with the library summer reading theme of "Catch the Reading Bug.!" Camp Kid Scoop appears every Tuesday all summer long.

Summer School -- you choose the day(s) you would like to use the newspaper with your class.

Each participating Summer School teacher will receive a specially selected packet of free curriculum guides to enhance classroom lessons in a variety of subject areas, while using the newspaper!
