Spelling Bee 2021 Updates

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is again proud to sponsor the Scripps National Spelling Bee in our community.

We know this school year has presented challenges for you and your students. Whether your students are learning in the classroom or remotely, Scripps has created a new online testing platform that will allow you to conduct classroom- and school-level competitions via a virtual spelling exam if needed. No matter how your school chooses to determine its spelling bee champion, all school champions from enrolled schools will move forward in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Spelling Bee.

At this time, we are awaiting more information from Scripps regarding online testing, rules and formats. Once we receive this information, we will provide an update on how and when we will conduct the regional spelling bee.

Remember, if your school has not enrolled yet with Scripps, we encourage you to do so at www.spellingbee.com. Please note: Registration closes on December 20, 2020. This is the first step to participating in the bee process and finding out more about the online bee option for your school. For assistance on running classroom and school bees, please refer to the rules provided by Scripps.

We are proud to continue offering the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Spelling Bee and look forward to providing this wonderful opportunity to your students.
